Georgian PM promises to hold free presidential elections in 2013
Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili promises to create conditions for holding free and fair presidential elections in 2013.
The Georgian Prime Minister announced this at the 83rd workshop 'Rose Roth' with the support of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Tbilisi on Monday.
"We will create all the conditions necessary for free and fair parliamentary elections to be held in October 2013," Ivanishvili said. "NATO representatives, who will arrive in Georgia in June, will have a great opportunity to become acquainted with the democratic processes in the country."
He said integration into NATO is a gradual process and Georgia is ready to continue this route.
"However, we expect the Alliance will appreciate Georgia's progress, reflect this in concrete decisions and contribute to the promotion of the integration process of the country," Ivanishvili said.
