Obama avoids using 'genocide' to describe 1915 events

U.S. President Barack Obama once again did not pronounce the word "genocide" in his traditional appeal in connection with the events of 1915 in the Ottoman Empire, News-Armenia reported on Wednesday.
"Our duty is to preserve the memory of the victims and prevent the repetition of these dark pages of history," Obama said.
It should be noted that every year Armenia observes April 24 as "Armenian genocide".
Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that the predecessor of Turkey, Ottoman Empire, committed genocide against Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915.
