Tajikistan and the Czech Republic intend to develop trade-economic relations.
Tajik ambassador to the Czech Republic (with resident in Berlin) Imomudin Sattorov during the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Tomas Dub discussed the current situation and perspectives of Tajik-Czech relations in terms of building closer business-contacts and widening contractual-legal framework for cooperation, Tajik Telegraph Agency reported on Friday.
The ambassador informed the Czech Deputy Minister about the purposes and targets of High Level International Conference on Water Cooperation which will be held in Dushanbe in August 2013 and expressed confidence in participation of Czech interested parties at this conference.
Trade turnover between Tajikistan and the Czech Republic amounted to $3.8 million in 2012.
Companies of the Czech Republic have reportedly expressed readiness to participate in investment projects in Tajikistan.
In July 2012, the State Committee for Investments and State
Property Management of Tajikistan signed a memorandum of
understanding on cooperation with Czech companies.
The document is aimed to promote further expansion of mutually
beneficial economic and investment cooperation between Tajik and
Czech companies.
The document reportedly stipulates an active cooperation between
the sides for attracting investments and launching credit lines for
implementing investment projects in sectors like industry and
energy, including construction of cement plants and hydroelectric
power plants in Tajikistan.
