Iran-Russia trade to reach $5 billion

The overall trade of Iran and Russia can reach five billion dollars in the next few years, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister of Russian Georgy Kalamanov said on Monday.

Talking during the second edition of the Tehran Advanced Technologies Exhibition, Kalamanov went on to note that the two countries' trade value decreased in 2012.

According to Kalamanov, Tehran and Moscow will hold several negotiations in the fields of steel production, car manufacturing and pharmaceutical production in the coming days.

Head of the Foreign Relations Department at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industries Vladimir Padalko said in December 2012 that Moscow will continue its trade cooperation and nothing could prevent the development of trade relations between Tehran and Moscow, Press TV reported.

Pointing to the US-led sanctions against Iran, the Russian official stressed that Moscow observes the situation and does not allow cooperation between the two countries to decrease.
