Three Armenians killed in Suria
Three Armenians were killed under mysterious circumstances in Damascus on Tuesday, spokesman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry Tigran Balayan told the Novosti-Armenia news agency.
"According to information received by their Damascus residence (Armenian Apostolic Church), individuals of Armenian origin - 49-year-old Petros Matosyan, 46-year-old Gevorg Matosyan and 22-year-old Levon Matosyan were killed under mysterious circumstances in Jobar region on August 28," Balayan said.
He added that the residence is making efforts to take their bodies from the conflict zone. All the victims were Syrian citizens.
The conflict in Syria has continued since March 2011. According to the authorities of the country, around 8,000 people were killed. But according to UN officials, the figure hits 20,000.
