Georgian firms to bid for road tenders in Armenia

Georgian companies will partake in tenders for construction of roads in Armenia, Georgian Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister Ramaz Nikolaishvili told journalists on Wednesday at the sidelines of a Georgian-Armenian business forum.
The field of road construction gradually develops in Armenia, therefore, Georgian companies will participate in this process.
"Our Armenian colleagues show a substantial progress in the field of construction of roads. Now they are beginning talks with international donors. The Asian Development Bank holds a $1 billion-worth tender in Armenia. We have already conducted preliminary talks with the Armenian side," Nikolaishvili said.
Georgia's Economy Minister Vera Kobalia told the business forum that trade turnover between the two countries grows by the year. In the first 10 months of 2011, Georgia exported goods worth $185 million to Armenia, the minister said.
