Iran actress reportedly sentenced to one year in jail
Iranian actress Marzieh Vafamehr has reportedly been sentenced to a one-year jail term and 90 lashes, Radio Liberty reported.
Opposition website Kalameh said the verdict was handed down Sunday and that Vafamehr's lawyer was appealing the verdict.
Vafamehr was arrested three months ago after appearing in the film "My Tehran For Sale" by Iranian-Australian Granaz Moussavi about the frustration that artists are experiencing in Iran.
Vafamehr is the wife of well-known Iranian filmmaker Nasser Taqvaei.
