EU, regional group commit to energy co-op
A regional economic group and European nations have committed to
cooperation in the energy sector.
A declaration was inked by the Black Sea Economic Cooperation
Organization (BSEC) and the European Union member states in Kiev
last week. The agreement was reached at a meeting of BSEC energy
ministers.
The declaration envisions bringing into compliance the energy bases
of BSEC and EU states. The signatories also pledged to bring into
accordance relevant legislation.
Azerbaijan joined the declaration under a condition that "frozen"
conflicts in the region must be swiftly settled in accord with the
sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, Ukrainian media
reported.
