ByteDance, the Chinese technology company behind TikTok, is reportedly training a new advanced artificial intelligence model that could rival the scale and capabilities of some of the world’s most powerful AI systems, AzerNEWS reports, citing foreign media.

The company is aiming to strengthen its position in the rapidly growing global AI race, where major technology firms are investing billions of dollars into larger and more sophisticated language models. Developing such systems requires enormous computing power, specialized chips, and extensive data resources.

The new project could bring ByteDance closer to leading American AI developers, including Anthropic, as companies continue to compete in building next-generation AI models with improved reasoning, coding, and problem-solving abilities.

Although ByteDance has not publicly revealed details about the model, the initiative highlights China’s growing ambitions in artificial intelligence.
