Court bans Instagram and Facebook in Russia

Tver Regional Court of Moscow on Monday recognized the activities of the social networks Instagram and Facebook, owned by Meta Platforms, as extremist and banned them in Russia, Trend reports citing TASS. The decision to ban Meta in Russia takes effect immediately.
"Satisfy the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office to ban Meta's activities," judge Olga Solopova announced the decision.
As the judge noted, the decision to ban takes effect immediately. Earlier, the Federal Security Service of Russia insisted on this.
