PACE rejects Armenian delegation’s credentials
The credentials of the delegations of all countries at the
Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) winter
session except Armenia and Albania have been endorsed, Russian RIA
Novosti news agency reported.
PACE lawmakers said during discussions that the Armenian parliament
had manipulated with the rules of compiling its national
delegation, without explaining reasons for these actions.
The make-up of the Armenian delegation at PACE had been approved by
the country’s Parliament Speaker Ovik Abramian on January 15.
Abramian removed Zarui Postanjian, a member of the opposition
Heritage party, from the list.
The PACE’s winter session started in Strasbourg on Monday and will
last until January 29.*
