Over 7 million foreigners visited Kyrgyzstan in 2018

Number of foreign citizens who crossed the border of Kyrgyzstan in 2018 reached more than 7 million people, exceeding the level of 2017 one and a half times, reports Trend citing to qazaqtimes.com
It was noted that gross value added in tourism last year, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to more than 27 billion soms, or 5 percent of GDP, remaining at the previous year level.
At least 486 recreation facilities and tourism organizations received and serviced tourists in 2018. At least 187 of them are specialized accommodation facilities, 185 hotels, 64 travel agencies and tour operators, travel and excursions offices, nine natural parks and more than 40 other tourist sites.
"The number of vacationers reached 1.4 million people (almost unchanged compared with the previous year). A significant part of them had a rest in Issyk-Kul region, where the number of tourists was more than 900,000 people", - says in the message.
