Number of vehicles in Turkey increases

In January 2019, the number of vehicles used in Turkey increased by 66,400 units compared to the same month of 2018, and reached 22.922 million units, Trend reports via Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
During the reported period, the share of cars was 66.8 percent, while vans and trucks accounted for 17.5 percent, motorcycles — 8.9 percent, tractors — 2.3 percent, and 4.5 percent accounted for other vehicles.
According to TUIK, 18.3 percent of vehicles used in January 2019 accounted for Renault, 16.4 percent for Fiat, 9 percent for Volkswagen, 5.8 percent for Peugeot, and 5.5 percent for Honda. The remaining 55 percent accounted for other car brands.
