Azerbaijan doubts Pashinyan's soberness in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement

By Abdul Kerimkhanov

Pashinyan demonstrates strange behaviour in the process resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Wishing to start solving the Karabakh problem, the prime minister did not calculate his strength. He relied too much on his rally popularity and did not take into account the presence in his country of a large part of the nationalist Armenian society. This part of society came into motion and openly threatened to overthrow the "revolutionary" Premier.

In this difficult situation, Pashinyan was confused and slowed down the process that had begun. The demand for the involvement of Karabakh separatists in the negotiation process can only be regarded as an inadequate response to an unusual situation.

Pashinyan does not know how to cope with growing problems. After all, he thought that his revolutionary coming to power would automatically open all the doors of the East and West before him, and this would incline the world to pressure on Azerbaijan and the soonest legitimization of the outcome of the Karabakh war.

After nothing happened, investments were not received, and Karabakh did not become a side of the conflict, Pashinyan realized that he would have to decide all the problems himself and was frightened.

The result of fright was his insane and inadequate statements. Speaking ast the parliament, Nikol Pashinyan said that the Azerbaijani community of Karabakh had been participating in negotiations all this time.

He explains this by the fact that the Azerbaijani community of Karabakh participates in parliamentary and presidential elections in Azerbaijan. They are citizens of Azerbaijan, therefore, the president of Azerbaijan is elected including the Azerbaijani community of Karabakh. Thus, the president and the parliament of Azerbaijan have a mandate to negotiate on behalf of these people.

Responding to the openly provocative statements of the Armenian Prime Minister, political scientist Fikret Sadikhov said that Pashinyan’s statements are very frivolous and of a profanity character.

‘‘The separatist regime allegedly presents itself as an independent "state entity" that does not vote for the Armenian Prime Minister. In fact, these are the same separatists who at one time demanded to join Armenia. By the way, the Armenian parliament gave its consent to this "reunification" and this decision has not yet been canceled’’, declared Sadikhov.

He noted that the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh is an independent body, which has the full right to legally participate in negotiations in a bilateral format.

Political scientist stressed that Karabakh Azerbaijanis are full citizens of Azerbaijan and, accordingly, participate in elections.

Pashinyan knows who the President of Azerbaijan represents at the negotiations. He is also well aware of the question on the negotiating table in the first place. There is no doubt, the Armenian Prime Minister knows that the separatists will never become a side of the negotiations, and he will not succeed in evading responsibility for the occupation of Azerbaijani territories.

Recently, political analyst Suren Sargsyan at a meeting with journalists said the desire of the Armenian side to include Karabakh in the negotiation process is almost impossible to implement. He added that Azerbaijan will simply not negotiate in this case.

Well, Pashinyan should learn adequacy from this political analyst.
