Turkmen Ambassador Shalar Geldynazarov has presented his credentials to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The Indian president noted the importance of developing relations with Turkmenistan, the ministry said.
Transportation is currently one of the relevant directions of partnership of Turkmenistan and India. The possibilities of the North-South transnational corridor project, using the potential of the seaports of the two countries, as well as prospects for the development of air transport ties, are being explored.
Turkmenistan and India are also discussing the partnership in chemical and electric power industry.
In addition, there is the project to construct the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) Pipeline, with a length of 1,840 kilometers and a capacity of 33 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Turkmenistan commenced the construction of its section of TAPI in December 2015.
