What countries Iranians visit the most?

In the first seven months the current Iranian year (started March 21), over 4.704 million Iranian citizens visited foreign countries, Vali Teymuri, the deputy chairman of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran, said, Trend reports via ISNA.
Teymuri noted that compared to the previous Iranian year, this year number of the international trips made by Iranian citizens has decreased.
He added that during the reported period, Iranians mainly visited Iraq, Turkey, the UAE, Georgia, Germany, Qatar and Saudi Arabia (in condescending order).
However, some of these countries are not the final destination for Iranian citizens, because countries like Turkey, the UAE and Qatar are usually chosen as transit countries by Iranians, Teymuri said.
Many Iranians note their destination as Istanbul or Dubai, but in fact, at least 70 percent of them visit other places, he noted.
