Turkish VP: U.S. sanctions against Iran unfair

By Trend

The US sanctions against Iran are unfair, the Turkish Vice-President Fuat Oktay said, Turkish media reported November 5.

Oktay noted that it is not correct to expect that all countries of the world will join the decision of one state acting exclusively by its own interests.

The US sanctions against Iran come into force today. The sanctions will cover the sphere of oil exports. Washington has set out to bring the export of Iranian oil to zero, calling on all its buyers to abandon such purchases.

The US President Donald Trump announced in May that Washington was withdrawing from the agreement on nuclear program with Iran.

He also announced the restoration of all sanctions against Iran, including secondary ones, that is, against other countries doing business with Iran. The United States re-introduced part of the sanctions against Iran on August 7.
