The Nothern Ireland holds the international conference between October 1 to 4 devoted to the 30 years after the establishment of the Healthy Cities network and global movement. The large-scale event has gathered Mayors and political leaders of such cities as Paris, Moscow, New York, Istanbul, Amsterdam and so on, including the leaders of the Healthcare Department of Astana.
The Department's head Kamalzhan Nadyrov said at the conference that Astana also intended to join the Healthy Cities network. This takes much work to improve the city's infrastructure so to decrease traumatism, road accidents, to form healthy habits among the residents, to reduce the level of harmful emissions, to improve the quality of water, as well as to develop green technologies. In other words, to build the city's structure so that the residents feel comfortable and safe.
The Healthy Cities global movement promotes health issues in social, economic and political agendas of city authorities. The network has brought together around 100 flagship cities and about 30 national networks over 30 years.
