Year 2017 to be more successful for Turkey’s tourism

The year 2017 will be more favorable for the sphere of tourism in Turkey, and there are already first signs of improvement in this area, the country’s Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Huseyin Yayman said.

He made the remarks speaking at the 37th International Tourism Trade Fair (FİTUR) in Madrid, the Anadolu Agency reported Jan. 20.

“Turkey will do its best to achieve the goals set in the field of tourism, and overcome the consequences of negative events in the Middle East,” said the deputy minister. “The world must stand together in the face of the threat of global terrorism.”

He stressed that Istanbul, Cappadocia and Ankara are as safe as Berlin, Paris, Rome and Madrid.

“The culture of the peoples who inhabited the territory of Turkey is 15,000 years old,” Yayman noted. “You won’t find historical monuments belonging to the civilization of the Hittites, Lydians, Phrygians, Romans, Persians, Seljuks, Ottomans, Arabs, etc. in the single space in any other country. All of this can be found here, in Anatolia, and this is a very important legacy and wealth.”
