An ultralight aircraft has slid off the runway at an airport in the Iranian northeastern city of Sabzevar as it was going through a series of tests on the ground.

Aliasghar Roshani, the head of Sabzevar airport, has said that the ultralight aircraft codenamed “Azita” designed and made by a private company was undergoing final tests over the past several weeks, IRNA news agency reported.

According to the report, the incident left no serious casualties but the pilot suffered some injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The aircraft with a capacity for carrying four passengers had earlier received the required permissions for carrying out the tests at the airport in Sbzevar city, the official said.
