Uzbekistan names new deputy PM

Uzbekistan’s President Islam Karimov has appointed Majid Karimov the country’s new deputy prime minister for youth policy, education, culture and sports, according to official media.
Prior to this appointment, Majid Karimov was serving as the rector of the Tashkent State Technical University.
Bahodir Hodiev, who served previously as deputy prime minister for youth policy, education, culture and sports, was appointed the rector of the Tashkent State University of Economics.
Uzbekistan’s Cabinet of Ministers includes one first deputy prime minister and six deputy prime ministers.
