Russia to raise price of gas sold to Armenia
Russia will raise the price of natural gas sold to Armenia, according to a new purchase agreement to be signed by The Russian monopoly, Gazprom, and Armenia in September.
"Under the three-year contract, the price for gas we import will increase from $110 to $165 [per 1,000 cubic meters] beginning in 2009," Armenian Energy Minister Armen Movsisian said.
The deal will be signed with the Armrosgazprom company, 72 per cent of whose stock is owned by Gazprom.
Annually, Armenia buys 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Russia.
