Azeri gas supplies to Turkey resumed

Azerbaijani gas supplies to Turkey, suspended over an explosion on the Turkish section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE) pipeline, have been resumed, IHA news agency quoted Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz as saying on Wednesday.

The explosion occurred on the section of the BTE pipeline in the Sarikamis district located in the Turkish province of Kars.

Turkey has a contract for supply of 6.6 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas annually from the Shah Deniz field via South Caucasus Pipeline, which is a section of the BTE pipeline crossing Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The explosion on the gas pipeline did not affect gas production in Azerbaijan.
