Volume of gas transit via Kazakhstan announced
The volume of transit via Central Asia - Center (CAC) gas pipeline totaled 19.15 billion cubic meters in 2011, Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev told media.
"The volume includes 7.95 billion cubic meters transported from Uzbekistan to Russia and 11.2 billion cubic meters from Turkmenistan to Russia," he said.
He added that around 34 billion cubic meters were transported through a newly built pipeline Kazakhstan-China in 2012.
"It is expected to expand the capacity to 65 billion cubic meters," the minister said. "At present, the agreement is going through the internal procedures."
