SOCAR to ship 230,000 tons from Russian port in Oct.
Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR will ship oil totaling 230,000 tons from the Russian port of Novorossiysk in October.
Oil from Novorossiysk will be shipped in two batches -- one in 145,000 tons and the second in 85,000 tons.
In total, 3.7 million tons of oil will be transported in October from the Black Sea port.
SOCAR exported 159,600 tons of oil from Russia's Novorossiysk in September compared to about 210,000 tons in September 2011.
In 2011, SOCAR exported 1.99 million tons of oil via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to 2.24 million tons in 2010.
SOCAR transships its own oil, as well as oil of joint ventures and operating companies working in Azerbaijan's onshore fields via Novorossiysk.
Until late 2007, Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) AIOC was the operator of Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline. The consortium then transferred the operatorship to SOCAR.
