Dutch deputy PM meets SOCAR's VP
A Dutch delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister, Economy
Minister Maxime Verhagen visiting Baku met vice-president of
Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR Elshad Nasirov on Friday.
The SOCAR vice-president praised cooperation between Azerbaijan and
the Netherlands, saying it would further expand.
Nasirov also spoke of Azerbaijan`s current development, saying "oil
and gas industry plays an important role in this development".
Vice-president briefed the delegation on Azerbaijan`s contribution
to the world oil industry, as well as the country`s role in
ensuring European energy security.
He spoke of global and regional oil and gas projects carried out in
Azerbaijan.
Verhagen described cooperation between Azerbaijan and the
Netherlands as fruitful. He expressed confidence the two countries`
relations would further develop.
