Gas output rises
Azerbaijan produced about 4.55 billion cubic meters of gas in January and February compared to about 4.1 billion cubic meters during the same period of last year, according to Azerbaijan`s state energy firm Socar.
Socar accounts for about 1.16 billion cubic meters from the total volume of gas produced in the country. The figure remained unchanged in comparison with the first two months of 2011.
Azerbaijan produced approximately 26 billion cubic meters of gas in 2011 compared to more than 26 billion cubic meters in 2010. Socar extracted 7.08 billion cubic meters of gas in 2011, slightly down from about 7.18 billion cubic meters in 2010.
