Socar to get stake in Ukraine filling stations network
The Ukrainian antimonopoly committee has authorized Socar Energy Ukraine to purchase more than 50-percent stake in Galitz Oil Company, which has 10 fuel filling complexes in the Lviv region, the committee said on its website last Saturday.
Socar Energy Ukraine, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state energy firm Socar, already operates a number of filling stations and tank farms in Ukraine.
The number of Socar’s filling stations in Ukraine is expected to increase to 40 by the end of 2012 from the current 15 units. By 2025, the company plans to bring the number of its filling stations in the country to 1,000.
Socar operates filling stations in Georgia, Azerbaijan and Romania.
