BP completes maintenance on Azeri offshore platform

Oil giant BP, which operates Azerbaijan’s Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of fields in the Caspian Sea, has completed operations on the Central Azeri platform within the technical maintenance program on three offshore platforms, BP Azerbaijan told Trend Friday.

Testing work is currently underway and the platform will be re-launched within a few days, the company said.

Previously, BP Azerbaijan suspended and re-launched the East Azeri and West Azeri platforms after conducting the necessary maintenance work there.

BP Azerbaijan’s plan envisioned suspending production on the three platforms in a planned sequence to ensure efficient technical maintenance. According to the plan, the operations were not suspended on all three platforms simultaneously.

ACG participating interests are: BP (35.83%), Socar (11.65%), Chevron (11.27%), Inpex (10.96%), Statoil (8.56%), ExxonMobil (8%), TPAO (6.75%), Itochu (4.3%), and Hess (2.72%).
