Azerbaijan plans production of Euro-5 gasoline
Azerbaijan will begin production of gasoline meeting Euro-5 standard in the near future, head of Azerbaijan’s state energy firm Socar has said.
Rovnag Abdullayev said that for this purpose, Socar will build a new oil and gas refining and petrochemicals complex outside the capital Baku. Preparations are underway for the project jointly with such major companies as Technip, Foster Wheeler and UOP, he said.
The Socar president added that implementation of the project will foster "real opportunities" to improve the environmental situation in Baku and expand the variety of oil products in the domestic market.
