Czech refinery to get Azeri oil in 2012
KIEV – Ukraine expects to transport 1.5 million tons of Azerbaijani oil via the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline and one of the Druzhba branches to a Czech oil refinery in Kralupy in 2012, Ukrtransnafta CEO OleksandrLazorko was quoted as saying by Ukrinform.
Lazorko told journalists that Ukrtransnafta together with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) prepares for a test supply of Azeri light to the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. The volume of the delivery, which is planned in the near future, will be about 300,000 tons.
SOCAR is negotiating with the Czech side to supply Azerbaijani oil to the country’s market, SOCAR's vice-president Vitaly Beylarbayov said earlier.
He said that the matter rests with mastering the routes of oil supply not only to the territory of the Czech Republic but also Slovakia and Hungary if it is possible.
