BAKU – Azerbaijan’s state oil company Socar exported in July over 2.2 million tons of crude from the Turkish Mediterranean port of Ceyhan, 85,000 tons of oil from Novorossiysk, Russia and 80,000 tons from Supsa in Georgia, the company said.

Oil exports from the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk decreased 1.9-fold in comparison with June and those from Supsa, a Black Sea port city in western Georgia, fell three-fold. Exports from the Ceyhan port increased 2.2 percent.

In January-July, a total of 14.1m tons were exported from Ceyhan, over 1.1m tons of oil from Novorossiysk and 1.5m tons from Supsa.

The volume of crude exported from the Russian seaport decreased 7.3 percent compared to the first seven months of 2010.

Azerbaijan produces most of its oil from the major Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields in the Caspian Sea.
