Oil and gas production down in Azerbaijan
BAKU – Oil and gas production decreased in Azerbaijan in the first half of 2011, according to official estimates.
The country extracted over 23.8 million tons of oil and 12.9 billion cubic meters of gas, 5.6 and 2.1 percent respectively below January-June 2010, Azerbaijan’s statistics committee said.
Despite a reduction in oil production, output of oil products increased 3.3 pct in comparison with the first half of 2010.
