Ex-Chevron chief joins Saudi oil company board

RIYADH – Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah issued a decree Saturday to appoint former Chevron Corp. Chief Executive and Chairman David J. O'Reilly to the board of directors of Saudi Arabian Oil Co., or Aramco.

Mr. O'Reilly ran Chevron for a decade, stepping down at the end of 2009. He will be on Aramco's board for three years, according to the royal decree.

Amin Nasser was also appointed as Aramco's vice president for exploration and production.

Other board members retained their positions, including Khaled Al-Faleh, Aramco's chief executive, and oil minister Ali al-Naimi, the firm's chairman. The new board will serve starting Aug. 25.
