Shell keen to re-invest in Azerbaijan: Dutch official
Oil giant Royal Dutch Shell Plc, which used to be involved in
large-scale energy projects in Azerbaijan and channeled hefty
investments into the country, is keen on re-investing in the
country, a senior Dutch official has said.
Ed Kronenburg, the Foreign Ministry’s Secretary-General, told the ceremony of opening the Netherlands’ embassy in Baku on Wednesday that Shell’s investments were discussed during a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev.
"Opportunities for Shell’s making considerable capital investments in Azerbaijan were discussed," the Dutch official said.
Kronenburg added that, besides the energy sector, the Netherlands is interested in a variety of other fields, including construction, waste management, agriculture and environmental protection.*
