Azerbaijan to launch fuel sales in Ukraine in weeks
Azerbaijan’s state energy firm SOCAR will begin selling its oil products at gas-filling stations in Ukraine by the end of March, according to SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev.
He reminded that the Azerbaijani oil company has purchased about 20 such facilities in Ukraine, with preparations underway to put them into operation. SOCAR has also bought an oil products terminal in the Ukrainian town of Odessa at the Black Sea, and work is underway there as well.
Further, Abdullayev said three gas stations operating under the SOCAR brand will be commissioned in Baku soon. A total of ten such facilities are under construction, with seven others due to be launched in the second quarter of 2010.
In total, SOCAR plans to open 26 gas stations in the capital.*
