Azerbaijan’s energy giant SOCAR expanded the network of its filling stations in Romania. The company launched its 35th filling station in the county on November 18.
The filling station, which is located in Romania’s Ilfov County, became the second refueling station of SOCAR in the region.
The station has the capacity to provide services for 4 motor cars and 2 large-size vehicles at the same time. The station will provide the sale of such fuel grades as NANO 95, NANO 98 (fuel for spark ignition engines that meet Euro 5 standard), NANO Diesel and NANO Super Diesel (fuel for compression-ignition engines).
The opening ceremony was attended by SOCAR Vice President on economic issues Suleyman Gasimov, employees of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Romania, Turkish Ambassador to Romania Osman Koray Ertaş, members of Romanian Parliament, President of TRANSGAZ Romania Ion Sterian, as well as employees of SOCAR Petroleum.
Being the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan, SOCAR also operates its filling stations in Georgia, Ukraine and Switzerland.
The company recently joined a tender for purchase of a network of filling stations in Turkey from the Austrian OMV.
The company established its first gas-filling station in Romania in 2011. Today, SOCAR operates filling stations under its brand in 17 regions of Romania.
SOCAR is involved in exploring oil and gas fields, producing, processing, and transporting oil, gas, and gas condensate, as well as oil and chemical products in domestic and international markets, and supplying natural gas to the industry and the public in Azerbaijan.
