Russian gymnast wins gold medal at FIG World Cup Final in Baku PHOTO
Russian gymnast Margarita Mamun won the gold medal in all-round competitions at the FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics in Baku July 23.
She scored 77.150 points in all four exercises.
Russian gymnast Yana Kudryavtseva won the silver medal scoring 77.050 points, while Alexandra Soldatova won the bronze medal scoring 75.850 points.
Azerbaijani gymnasts Marina Durunda and Zhala Piriyeva scored 70,500 and 68.850, respectively, and ranked tenth and fourteenth.
The FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics will last until July 24, giving a unique opportunity to watch the performances of eminent gymnasts from 17 countries two weeks prior to the Rio Olympics.
Twenty-six gymnasts and nine teams will compete for medals in the all-around on the first two days of competitions. Apparatus finals will be held on the event’s last day.
A traditional Gala will be held on July 24, as part of the FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics in Baku.
