The Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) has disclosed a preliminary list of 15 candidates who will participate in the upcoming parliamentary election, the party told Trend.
The first meeting of the central electoral staff, established by the DPA to determine candidates for the Azerbaijani parliamentary election, was held on August 26.
A preliminary list of candidates was drawn at the meeting. A decision was taken to hold a meeting of the supreme assembly of the party on September 5. Issues related to the upcoming election will be discussed.
DPA was established in 1991 in Nakhchivan.
Azerbaijan has 55 officially registered political parties. The parliamentary election in Azerbaijan is scheduled for November.
In order to conduct transparent elections, more than 1,000 cameras are expected to be installed in polling stations in Azerbaijani regions and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Some 296 cameras will be installed in Baku polling stations alone.
The government takes necessary measures for transparency in elections both for international institutions and the public, Central Election Commission chairman Mazahir Panahov said earlier.
"Azerbaijan has taken the necessary steps for transparency in this sphere, and cameras have been installed on 20 percent of polling stations. Since the beginning of the election, their work can be observed online anywhere in the world,” he said.
