Azerbaijani- Montenegrin ties mulled
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Montenegro Eldar Hasanov has met
Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Đukanović to mull developing
prospects of cooperation between the two countries.
Đukanović said the projects successfully implemented by Azerbaijan
in Montenegro were the solid base for cooperation between the two
countries and would give an important push for future
investments.
He also noted his last visit to Baku contributed to further
strengthening the bilateral relations.
Hasanov, in turn, spoke of Azerbaijan`s position over the project
between the Tivat and Herceg Novi Municipalities on improving the
seaside transport infrastructure of Montenegro.
The sides also focused on the prospects of cooperation in energy
sphere.
Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Montenegro started to develop faster recently.
Earlier in April 2014, Baku hosted a business meeting of Azerbaijan and Montenegro, which brought together businessmen from industry, agriculture, food industry, tourism and construction sectors to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation between the countries.
Azerbaijan's state energy company SOCAR is going to build a modern resort and hotel complex in place of an abandoned navy base in the Bay of Kotor. For this purpose, Azerbaijan started the $500 million investment project in Montenegro in 2013, which is scheduled to be finished by 2016.
