Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited the Khirdalan city and Masazir district on October 3.

First, the head of state laid flowers at a statue of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Head of the Absheron District Executive Authority Zakir Farajov informed President Aliyev about the works recently carried out there.

Later, President Aliyev officially inaugurated the Heydar Aliyev Center in Khirdalan by cutting a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the facility.

There are photos, exhibits and books in the center reflecting the national leader's life and activities in different periods.

There are also dazzling interactive displays and a museum in the building. All exhibition rooms are fitted with the necessary equipment. The center has some discussion halls for youth, an electronic library, an exhibition hall, a drawing room, a photo studio, a dance hall and a 280-seat auditorium.

Also, President Aliyev reviewed the reconstruction work at the culture and recreation park named after Heydar Aliyev and the Flag Square.

Later, President Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of 'Park Absheron' entertainment center covering a total area of 1400 square meters.

The centre has an ice rink, a 3D cinema, a 3D shooting gallery, a bowling alley and a summer cafe.

The head of state also inaugurated a music school. He then made a tour of the school.

All conditions have been created for children there. All classrooms are equipped with musical instruments. The facility has a library and an 82-seat auditorium.

Later, President Aliyev inaugurated a chess school. He made a tour of different parts of the school. The facility has a tournament hall and some training and auxiliary rooms.

Also, President Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of a stadium in Masazir District.

The stadium has been built in line with international standards. The 13,000-seat stadium has a press centre, rooms for coaches, medical and doping control rooms.

Following his visit, President Aliyev signed an order on extra measures to speed up social and economic development of Absheron District.

Under the presidential order, 2 million manats has already been allocated to the Absheron Executive Authority for continuing landscaping and construction works in Khirdalan and taking measures stipulated in the 'State Program on socio-economic development of the districts of Azerbaijan in 2014-2018'.
