ADA University and Beijing University of Language and Culture (BLCU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the development of bilateral relations.

The document was signed during the working visit of an Azerbaijani delegation to China, ADA University said on July 4.

The visit was aimed at promoting the Azerbaijani university abroad and exploring ways of expanding cooperation with Chinese universities through launching joint projects such as holding academic conferences and establishing summer schools.

Attraction of Chinese students to ADA, expanding student and faculty exchanges, as well as presenting the book titled: "Azerbaijan as a regional center of the Central Eurasia" were among other aims of this visit.

Azerbaijan's delegation also met with officials of Beijing University of Language and Culture, Beijing State University, the China Institute of International Relations, Diplomatic Academy of China, Confucius Institute and so on. They also discussed issues of energy and environment with Chinese academics.

The delegation included Pro-Rector of the ADA University Fariz Ismayilzade, Deputy Pro-Rector for Academic Affairs Anar Veliyev, researcher Talekh Ziyadov, Head of Office for International Relations Rahman Shahguseynli and leading researcher at the Center for Strategic Studies Rashad Kerimov.

Founded by the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry and chartered by a presidential decree, ADA University is dedicated to training innovative global leaders and promoting useful collaborative research on diplomacy, public and international affairs, business, humanities and sciences, information technologies, and system engineering.

Founded in 1962, Beijing Language and Culture University was originally named as a higher preparatory school for foreign students. It is the only international university in China tasked with teaching the Chinese language and culture to foreign students.
