Turkic-speaking media outlets gather in Eskisehir
The Turkish city of Eskisehir has hosted a meeting of representatives of the Turkic world`s mass media, AzerTag news agency reported.
The meeting was attended by 120 journalists from 30 countries and 250 media representatives from 60 Turkish provinces.
Speakers at the event, including Turkish Education Minister Nebi Avci, stressed the role of the mass media in strengthening relations among Turkic nations.
Azerbaijan was represented by the Press Council and several media outlets. Speaking to the event, Press Council Chairman Aflatun Amashov urged the mass media to increase efforts towards strengthening relations among Turkic-speaking countries and nations.
The meeting featured a ceremony of awarding best media outlets, which included Azerbaijan`s Medeniyyet TV channel and Olaylar newspaper. The awards were presented by TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov.
