Azerbaijan's President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Ilham Aliyev inspected the construction and remodeling process at the military town of the Special State Security Service on January 18.

President Aliyev also attended the opening ceremony of the Service's sports complex.

The Head of State laid flowers at the town's monument for national leader Heydar Aliyev.

President Aliyev then studied the activity of the Situation Center of the Special State Security Service, and was informed about the construction and remodeling job carried out at the camp.

Communication lines in the military camp were rebuilt, and the old buildings in the territory were replaced by new ones. The two newly-built five-storey buildings were provided with all the necessary conditions. The football ground was also reconstructed at the military camp, and was provided with necessary sports equipment.

President Aliyev then cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the sports complex.

National leader Heydar Aliyev's bas-relief and a photo stand reflecting the attention paid by national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to the development of the sports and Olympic movement in the country were installed at the complex.

Chief of the Special State Security Service Vagif Akhundov told the Head of State that the sports complex, which occupies a total area of 8,000 square meters, was provided with all the necessary conditions to accommodate all types of sports.

The complex has a state-of-the-art swimming pool, and a medical facility which was provided with modern equipment.

The Head of State inspected the uniforms and equipment of the staff at the Special State Security Service, and was informed that the gym at the complex was provided with modern sports equipment.

The complex also has a 360-seat gym for basketball, volleyball, and other sports competitions.

President Aliyev then met the staff at the Special State Security Service.

The complex's Chief thanked President Aliyev on behalf of the staff.
