Baku will host the next meeting of the Iranian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental committee on December 16.
Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen told Trend news agency that a delegation led by the Director General of the International Legal Department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Alireza Jahangiri, will participate in the meeting.
The meeting will discuss the commissioning of a new bridge near the Julfa border checkpoint.
Pak-Ayeen went on to note that a memorandum of understanding will also be signed in case of the parties' agreement.
He added that the meeting will also discuss other issues related to the border.
Earlier Pak-Ayeen said new bridge was constructed at this border crossing point and it is ready for operation. An agreement is required between Iran and Azerbaijan on the terms of using this bridge.
There are seven border crossings on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border.
