Pollution high in Azeri cities
Air pollution is a serious problem in Baku as well as several other
large Azerbaijani cities, environmentalists have warned.
These findings are based upon monitoring conducted by employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources in the Nizami, Narimanov, Khatai and Yasamal districts of the capital, as well as in the cities of Sumgayit, Ganja and Mingachevir, during the first half of 2008.
In three other cities studied - Nakhchivan, Shaki and Lankaran - an air pollution problem was not uncovered.
