Armenia again breach ceasefire with Azerbaijan

Armenian armed forces opened fire at positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces located in Ashagi Askipara village of Azerbaijan's Gazakh region from the positions located in the village of Voskepar of Armenia's Noemberyan region on November 18- 19, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry reported .

At the same time, Azerbaijani Armed Forces were fired from the positions located near villages of Garakhanbeyli of Fizuli region, Kuropatkino of Khojavend region and Shikhlar of Agdam region.

The Armenians were silenced with a retail fire, the ministry said.

Armenia captured Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts from Azerbaijan in a war that followed the Soviet breakup in 1991. More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and nearly 1 million displaced by the war.

Large-scale hostilities ended with a Russia-brokered ceasefire in 1994 but Armenia has continued the occupation in defiance of four UN Security Council resolutions calling for immediate and unconditional withdrawal.

Peace talks mediated by Russia, France and the US have produced no results so far.
