Armenians breach ceasefire in several directions
The Armenian armed forces opened fire at positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces located in Gyzylgadzhily village of Gazakh region from the positions located in Berkaber village of Armenia's Ijevan region on Sept.5-6, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry reported.
The Armenian armed forces also opened fire at positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces located in Kokhanebi village of Tovuz region, from the positions located in the village of Chinari of Armenia's Berd region.
Also, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces were fired from the positions located near the occupied villages of Ashagi Seyidahmadli, Horadiz and Ashagi Abdulrahmanli of Fizuli region, Kuropatkino of Khojavend region, Yusifjanli in the Agdam region, and the positions at the nameless heights.
The Armenians were silenced with a retail fire, the Defense Ministry said.
The precarious cease-fire between Azerbaijan and Armenia was reached after a lengthy war that displaced over a million Azerbaijanis and has been in place between the two South Caucasus countries since 1994. Since the hostilities, Armenian armed forces have occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
The UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on Armenia's withdrawal from the Azerbaijani territory, but they have not been enforced to this day.
