Japanese company provides aid to Azerbaijani refugees

UNHCR`s longest-serving corporate partner Japanese Fuji Optical has provided optical aid to refugees in the Azerbaijani city of Yevlakh, AzerTac state news agency reported.

The company examined over 900 refugees by improving their eyesight and providing them with 3,500 spectacles.

The company which conducted its 9th humanitarian mission to Azerbaijan also provided optical aid to refugees in Mingachevir region, with the project`s next stage to be implemented in capital Baku.

Fuji Optical began cooperating with UNHCR in 1984, and has since conducted more than 24 missions to help uprooted people in Nepal, Thailand and Azerbaijan by testing their eyes and providing them with spectacles.

He has donated more than 108,200 pairs of glasses, provided optometry equipment, made cash grants and trained local medical staff.
