Baku dismisses reports on arms purchases from North Korea

Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry has denied reports from several media outlets on the possibility of a weapons purchase from North Korea.
"Recently a number of media outlets, in reference to a UN report, propagated information stating that Azerbaijan allegedly buys weapons from North Korea. This information does not reflect reality," Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev told journalists on May 20.
Azerbaijan will study this issue in detail, Abdullayev added.
The foreign ministry is also investigating how this information was reflected in the report of the United Nations, he said.
